ITALY CONCERTS WITH DADO MORONI AND DAVE BLENKHORN

Me and Dado go back 15 years and he’s always been very supportive.

Since the first day we met we immediately had a strong musical and personal connection, he helped me in many ways when I moved in New York and he was the pianist for my first record Cookin’ Hot.

Lately I was listening back to some of the gigs that I did at the end of last year with his trio featuring Dave Blenkhorn on guitar and I decided to post a little audio clip here as well as some pictures that we took together.

Audio Clip #1

I was very flattered to receive his call to play these concerts in Italy. We played in Pescara, Como, Verona and Bellinzona (CH). The crowd was very warm and enjoyed our music.

For this occasion we played many songs from the Oscar Peterson’s book, one of Dado earliest  influences. A beautiful arrangement that Dado did of Peterson’s “March Past”, City Lights, Cakewalk, Wheatland, Big Fat Mama, originally by Lucky Millinder but part of Oscar’s repertoire (check Live At The Opera House.)

Beside the music I really enjoyed traveling with these guys, talking about stories, sharing different experiences and musical tastes, Dave played for me some  “Van Halen” for breakfast one day,

I really hope to play with these fine musicians soon again !
